Our expertise

Highly Regarded in Court

As a firm with a strong litigation focus, DTS has always been committed to the enforcement of intellectual property rights. We help patent owners as well as trademark owners assert their rights before the civil courts in efficient and fast-moving proceedings. In addition to representing clients before the German patent and trademark infringement courts and the Higher Regional Courts, DTS is also well positioned for proceedings before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

Strong in Patent Infringement Litigation

DTS has earned a strong reputation for successfully defending patent infringement claims and coordinating parallel proceedings across multiple European jurisdictions. In particular, within Germany’s dual patent litigation system (infringement courts and the Federal Patent Court), we support our clients with the necessary specialist expertise and the tactical considerations arising from this framework. Through a creative and strategic approach to available defence options—including those under the European Patent Convention—DTS often achieves successful outcomes even in cases that initially appear difficult.

Out-of-Court Strategy and Arbitration

DTS advises clients both outside the courtroom and at every stage of a dispute, from pre-litigation strategy and tactical positioning in court proceedings to parallel opposition and nullity actions, enforcement of judgments, and settlement negotiations. We also represent clients in arbitration proceedings before arbitral tribunals. Our approach is consistently driven by what matters most: achieving the best possible outcome aligned with our clients’ commercial objectives.

For every matter, DTS assembles a team with the right expertise and proven litigation experience to deliver results.
