“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”

Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)

Serhat Dikme is a lawyer and European patent litigator. The focus of his legal practice is on:

  • Patent law
  • Trademark law
  • IT law (data protection law, software development agreements)
  • Competition law
  • Copyright
  • Contract

Serhat Dikme studied law at the University of Augsburg and Strathclyde University in Glasgow (UK). During his legal training, he worked at the Augsburg Regional Court, the European Commission in Brussels, and Sky Deutschland in Munich.

He completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Queen Mary University of London (UK) in the field of intellectual property law, specializing in patent and trademark law.

Serhat Dikme has been admitted to the bar since 2023 and has been working in intellectual property law ever since. In 2025, he was admitted as a representative before the Unified Patent Court (European Patent Litigator/UPC). In 2025, he completed the theoretical part of his specialist lawyer training in intellectual property law.

“A smart compromise can often make more sense than costly and time-consuming litigation. Legal disputes should not slow down the growth and development of our clients. I also see our role as bringing about such a compromise from a position of credible strength. If it is worth fighting for, I firmly stand by our clients.”

“At DTS, young lawyers can take a leading role, rather than exclusively working in the background for years. This means that, in addition to the legal work itself, you also have the opportunity to help determine the strategic approach and communicate it to clients. This teaches you the broader considerations in tactics and strategy, which can be relevant outside of court proceedings and thus gives you a holistic perspective.”
