With effect from April 1, 2023, DTS has appoint­ed two of its team mem­bers, Mr. Flo­ri­an Bew­er and Mr. Markus Euster­mann, as Asso­ciate Partners.

The new Asso­ciate Part­ners will fur­ther strength­en the firm’s future, both from a legal and a tech­ni­cal perspective.

Flo­ri­an Bew­er has worked as a lawyer for DTS since 2014. Sub­se­quent to his stud­ies at the LMU Munich and his legal intern­ship at the High­er Dis­trict Court Munich, he pre­vi­ous­ly worked for oth­er renowned law firms in Munich and Düs­sel­dorf with a focus on intel­lec­tu­al prop­er­ty law since his admis­sion in 2011.

In addi­tion to his focus on patent infringe­ment mat­ters in extra­ju­di­cial and judi­cial pro­ceed­ings, Flo­ri­an Bew­er has par­tic­u­lar exper­tise in all con­trac­tu­al mat­ters, such as R&D coop­er­a­tion or licens­ing agree­ments, includ­ing the antitrust impli­ca­tions, in com­pe­ti­tion and trade secret law as well as in employ­ee inven­tion law. Flo­ri­an Bew­er has been han­dling com­plex pro­ceed­ings before the Region­al Courts, High­er Dis­trict Courts and Arbi­tra­tion Courts for many years now.

Markus Euster­mann turned to the field of intel­lec­tu­al prop­er­ty after com­plet­ing his Master’s degree in Med­ical Tech­nol­o­gy at the TU Munich in 2014. After his edu­ca­tion for becom­ing a Ger­man Patent Attor­ney in an inter­na­tion­al­ly rec­og­nized law firm in Munich, he was also able to gain exten­sive expe­ri­ence regard­ing the strate­gi­cal enforce­ment of IP rights in the fol­low­ing years. He joined the team of DTS in July 2022.

Since then, Markus Euster­mann has been involved in lit­i­ga­tion dis­putes con­cern­ing patents, trade­marks and designs, as well as in due dili­gence process­es, inter partes con­trac­tu­al mat­ters and the pros­e­cu­tion of IP rights. As a lec­tur­er at the Ulm Uni­ver­si­ty of Applied Sci­ences, he also holds the lec­ture series “Intel­lec­tu­al Prop­er­ty for Med­ical Devices” in the Master’s stud­ies of Med­ical Tech­nol­o­gy on a reg­u­lar basis.
