With effect from 1 January 2026, Robert Schnekenbühl, Partner at DTS, has been appointed for a five-year term as Member of the arbitral tribunal and added to the list of neutrals of the Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre (PMAC).
The PMAC will commence its activities at the beginning of 2026 as part of the ecosystem of the Unified Patent Court (UPC). The Centre is designed to offer confidential, efficient and highly specialised procedures for the alternative resolution of patent disputes. Arbitration, in particular, is gaining increasing importance in technically complex and economically significant patent and SEP disputes and represents a flexible complement to court litigation.
Through his appointment, Robert Schnekenbühl makes his extensive experience in patent law and dispute resolution available to the PMAC for a period of five years and, as a member of the arbitral tribunal, will contribute to the further establishment of the PMAC as an internationally recognised forum for patent disputes.
Further information on the Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre (PMAC) is available on the website of the Unified Patent Court.
